RSA The RSA and Arts Council England are working in partnership on a new programme - Arts & Ecology. Through a series of national and international events, education pilots, a publication and by setting up artists' commissions, we are at the same time engaged in 'open research'. We are keen to explore issues around communication, the roles and interests of artists in addressing environmental and social interests, the potential to link with the commercial world as well as with scientists and other professionals. One perspective is from the London School of Economics, who are hosting a conference we are holding in London in December; the other is from businesses on the ground who are increasingly being confronted by environmental and related social challenges. The seminar is a real opportunity in a real world to encourage understanding and dialogue.
